ZeyZey
Giving a logo rhythm with variable axes…
A dynamic expression of the energy experienced at a live music venue.

ZeyZey
Offering a fusion of music, culture, and culinary delights, ZeyZey is destined to be the heartbeat of Miami’s music scene. From Afro-Cuban funk to Brazilian disco, salsa, cumbia, and electronic fusion, it’s tunes resonate with the soul.
The Visual Identity
The ZeyZey identity was designed by the incredible studio Réplica. The vertical emphasis of the logo was perfect for creating a sense of rhythm and movement. Otherwhere® got involved to bring some musical motion to the logo for digital applications.
Logo as Font / Font as Logo
The key here is making the logo as a font. It is customizable and has everything the client needs to make their own iterations of the logo—sizes, configurations, color, motion—just by typing on the keyboard. It can also be shared easily in a small file. Every letter on the keyboard is replaced with the letters Z, E, and Y, in various forms each of which is modular and re-composable. This can then be brought to life in different ways with the variable axes.
Variable
The variable axes are used to give a sense of energy experienced at a live music venue, whether that be a representation of the music itself, crowds with their hands in the air, or bottles bouncing around on the bar. With motion we can give a sense of booming bass, air horns, line faders sliding up and down, or notes played on a trumpet. We can be loud and energetic, or quietly bob our heads at the back.
